LAKE GARDENS, KUALA LUMPUR
Ostatnim punktem zwiedzania podczas wizyty teściowej i szwagierki było Lake Gardens czyli ogromny park z atrakcjami, w Kuala Lumpur, jakieś 20 min samochodem od nas.
Lake Gardens (nazwa lokalna: Taman Tasik Perdana) to prawie 92 hektary parków i ogrodów, zbudowane dookoła dwóch jezior, w pobliżu centrum Kuala Lumpur. W skład ogrodów wchodzą między innymi Park Jeleni (Deer Park), Park Ptaków (Bird Park) czy Park Motyli (Butterfly Park), Ogród Storczyków i Ketmii (Orchids and Hibiscus Gardens) lub też Ziołowy Ogród (Herb Garden). Znajdują się tu też sporych rozmiarów place zabaw, trasy do joggingu i sprzęt do ćwiczeń.
Last sight we decided to visit during Piotr’s mum and sister’s visit was Lake Gardens - a huge area of parks and gardens, in Kuala Lumpur, about 20 min drive from us.
Lake Gardens (local name: Taman Tasik Perdana) is almost 92 hectares of parks and gardens, built around two lakes, in close proximity to Kuala Lumpur centre. There are places like Deer Park, Bird Park or Butterfly Park as well as Orchid and Hibiscus Gardens and Herb Garden. There are also a few pretty awesome and big playgrounds, jogging tracks and exercise stations.
Spacerując po terenie Lake Gardens aż trudno uwierzyć, że jesteśmy praktycznie w centrum Azjatyckiej stolicy, a dookoła jest tyle autostrad i dróg szybkiego ruchu. Wszystko wygląda bardzo ładnie i jest zadbane a place zabaw są tak 'wypasione', że nic tylko dzieciakom pozazdrościć bądź się do nich dołączyć ;) Byleby tylko słońce nie przygrzewało za mocno i można szaleć cały dzień.
Walking around the Lake Gardens it is really difficult to believe that we are practically in the centre of Asian capital, and there are numerous motorways around it. Everything is well-maintained and looks really beautiful. The playgrounds are a real heaven for kids and we can envy them or join them ;) As long as the sun doesn’t burn you, you can play all day long.
Z atrakcji dostępnych w Lake Gardens zdecydowaliśmy się zwiedzić Bird Park (Ptaszarnię), Butterfly Park (Motylarnię) i Deer Park (Park Jeleni).
Of all the attractions available in Lake Gardens we decided to visit Bird Park, Butterfly Park and Deer Park.
Bird Park czyli Ptaszarnia szczyci się największym na świecie obszarem po którym ptaki latają swobodnie, przykryty siatką od góry dzięki której nie wyfruwają poza teren parku. Dla turystów to tak jakby wejść do ogromnej klatki gdzie znajduje się ponad 3000 ptaków (200 gatunków) lokalnych i obcych, od gołębi, bocianów czy kaczek, po pawie, strusie czy flamingi. Ścieżki na terenie parku są w większości zacienione więc nawet w bezchmurny dzień słońce nie jest aż tak dokuczliwe. Wstęp do parku kosztuje 45 Ringgit (około 45 PLN).
Bird Park has the world’s largest free flight walk-in aviary. It is like walking into an enormous bird cage where you can meet over 3000 birds of 200 local and foreign bird species, from pigeons, storks or ducks to peacocks, ostriches or flamings. The pathways are mostly shaded so even during a cloudless day you don’t feel the heat while walking. The park entry is 45 Ringgit (about £9).
Deer Park czyli park z jeleniami zajmuje niewielki obszar ale jeleni było sporo, większość młodych, jeszcze bez poroża. Znajdują się tu też myszo-jelenie (mouse deer) które mieszkają w klatkach i wygladają jak wielkie myszy na czterech jelenich nogach. Tutaj spędziliśmy niewiele czasu ponieważ sam park jest niewielki a było gorąco i duszno, i głównie można posiedzieć sobie pod daszkiem i pogapić się na śpiące czy to spacerujące jelenie. Maya dostała kawałek chleba od innej turystki i dzielnie karmiła jednego jelonka, z pomocą teściowej. Wstęp do parku jest bezpłatny.
Deer Park doesn’t cover a big area but there were quite a lot of deers, mostly young. There were also mouse deers that they keep in the cages and they look a bit like big mice on four deer legs. We spent very little time here as it was very hot and humid and the park isn’t very big. We mainly stayed under a small canopy and we watched the deers sleeping and hanging around. Maya got a piece of bread form another tourist and was very brave to feed one of the deers, with grandma’s help. The entrance to the park is free.
Butterfly Park czyli Motylarnia to niewielki obszar ale bardzo gęsto zarośnięty i bardzo ładnie zaprojektowany - tu stawik, tam wodospadzik, tu ławeczki, tam pergola, itp, itd. Od góry wszystko przykryte siatką aby motyle wiedziały gdzie ich dom, podobnie jak w ptaszarni, wchodzi się jakby do gigantycznej klatki z motylami. Znajduje się tu ponad 6000 motyli (ponad 120 gatunków) i naprawdę było ich mnóstwo, w różnych kolorach i kształtach. Oprócz sporej ilości kwiatów, znajudją się tu też jadłodajnie dla motyli a te z nich rzeczywiście korzystają. Pamiętaliśmy aby zabrać obiektyw makro więc Piotrkowi udało się zrobić sporo motyli z bliska. Szwagierce udało się zwabić motyla i nawet usiadł jej na ręce. Wstęp do parku kosztuje 18 Rinngit (około 18 PLN) plus 1 Ringgit opłaty za aparat fotograficzny.
Butterfly Park is not a very big area but a very dense in plants and well arranged - little pond here, small cascade there, benches, pergolas, etc. From the top the whole area is covered with a net so that the butterflies know where their home is, just like in the Bird Park, you walk into a giant butterfly cage. There are over 6000 butterflies (over 120 species) and there were really a lot of them, different shapes, patterns and colours. Apart from numerous flowers, there are also artificial ‘canteens’ for all butterflies and looked like they also use them. We remembered to take our macro lens so Piotr managed to take a few nice shots of butterflies from close-up. Hania, Piotr’s sister, somehow lured one of the butterflies and it sat on her hand. The park entry is 18 Ringgit (about £3.5) plus 1 Ringgit for the camera.
Teren Lake Gardens jest naprawdę piękny, i gdybym miała gwarancję, że ktoregoś dnia słońce będzie cały dzień za chmurami, a padać nie będzie, to napewno wybrałabym się tam na cały dzień, zaliczyć place zabaw, posiedzieć na kocyku pod drzewkiem czy na ławce… czemu nie ;) Podczas naszej wizyty słońce było bezlitosne i nie dało się zbyt długo wytrzymać, a większość atrakcji dla dzieci jest w słońcu… nic przyjemnego przede wszystkim dla dziecka. Napewno jeszcze kiedyś tam wpadniemy. Może pora sucha która już powoli nadchodzi, nie będzie taka bezlitosna jak pora deszczowa (wilgotna i duszna).
Lake Gardens area is really beautiful and well-kept. If I was sure that one day the sun will stay hidden behind the clouds, with no rain, I would definitely took Maya there for the whole day, play in the huge playgrounds, relax on the bench under a tree.. why not ;) During our visit it was baking hot and even walking from one place to another was a real pain. Most of the playgrounds and kids areas are fully exposed to sun... not the best idea, especially for an infant. I’m sure we will visit the place again. Maybe the dry season that approaches will make the air fresher and not so humid like during the current monsoon season.
