MALEZYJSKI TAJFUN / MALAYSIAN TYPHOON
4 stycznia nawiedził nas tajfun. Właściwie to dopiero po fakcie zorientowałam się, że to tajfun. Popołudniem zebraly się chmury i zrobiło się ciemno ale nic w tym nienormalnego jako że często tak właśnie popołudnia tutaj wyglądają. No i przyszła porządna ulewa. Deszczem i wiatrem zacinało od wschodu więc prosto w nasze salonowe okna - woda wlewała nam się do pokoju bo okna są rozsuwane i mają pojedynczą szybę. Do tego burza z piorunami i to dosyć głośna i ponad godzinę grzmiało a lało tak że przez okna nie było nic widać. Zerkałam co chwilę i widziałam, że drzewa prawie do połowy wicher wygina. Dopiero jak Piotrek wrócił z pracy po 18 okazało się że po drodze widział dużo drzew poprzewracanych i połamanych a jak dojechał na osiedle to okazało się że nie ma jak zaparkować. Jedno duże drzewo widziane z naszego okna wyrwało z korzeniami i przewróciło się na parking i zablokowało dostęp do miejsc parkingowych. Nad miejscami parkingowymi jest daszek więc drzewo tylko musnęło ten daszek i pozrzucało kilka dachówek. Pod daszkiem stało akurat wtedy jedno jedyne auto zaparkowane i jakby nie daszek to pewnie by mu się też oberwało. Piotrek przez następne 3 dni musiał parkować w innym miejscu.
Na drugi dzień dopiero wyszłyśmy z Mayą na spacer i zobaczyłyśmy że na naszym osiedlu sporo drzew powyrywało i połamało. Wszystkie poprzewracane i połamane drzewa popiłowali na kawałki i powywozili. Sprzątanie trwało kilka dni i jeszcze dziś widać gdzieniegdzie resztki jeszcze nie wywiezionych gałęzi. Dzieciaki z przedszkola też wyszły pooglądać straty, a przedszkolanka ostrzegła mnie żeby uważać na duże czerwone mrówki. Na placu zabaw leżały polamane drzewa i stamtąd multum tych mrówek się zebrało podobno. Spotkalam kilka i rzeczywiście są duże.
Obecnie w Malezji często pada, prawie codziennie, i ulewy potrafią być porządne. Nic w tym dziwnego - wkońcu to pora monsunowa. W Europie tak ulewnych desczów nie ma.
On 4th January a typhoon swept over our area. I actually didn’t realise that it was a typhoon. In the afternoon the dark clouds arrived and it got dark but it was normal and the afternoons like this are rather common. A heavy rain arrived and the wind and rain blew from the east so straight into our lounge windows - the water was pouring in to the room as the windows are only singe sliding pane. Plus there was a very heavy and noisy thunderstorm, which lasted over an hour and I couldn’t see anything through the windows. I looked out from time to time and saw the trees being bent almost to the ground. Only after Piotr came back from work after 6pm he told me he’d seen a lot of broken and uprooted trees and once he got to our condo he couldn’t park in his spot. One high tree was uprooted and was lying along our car park and blocked the access to the parking spots. There is a shelter over the spots and the tree only touched it knocking off a few tiles. Under the shelter there was one car parked already and if it wasn’t for the shelter, the car would have got hit as well. Over the next 3 days Piotr had to park somewhere else until they cleared the tree.
Next day we went with Maya for a walk and we saw that there are quite a lot of trees uprooted and broken. All those uprooted and broken trees were sawed and removed. The clean up last for a few days and even today I can see a lot of remaining branches or tree pieces that haven’t been removed yet. The kindergarden kids also went outside to see the damages, and the kindergarden lady warned me to look out for big red ants. There were a lot of broken branches in the playground and apparently loads of those red ants come off them. I saw a few of those ants and they are really big.
At the moment it often rains, almost every day, and the rain is usually very heavy with a strong wind. It is normal as we are having the monsoon season. In Europe it never rains so heavily.
